California Vacation

Soooo... we have had a whirlwind of a summer. I feel like we've been so busy with who knows what that our blog has been neglected. So here is our California Trip in pictures. Not in a specific order and some are sideways so just turn your computer screen. Here is a little recap...
The day we left was Kyle's birthday. So in awesome birthday style we got up super early and headed on vacation! The birthday boy's request was In and Out, so we made a quick stop in Vegas. We made it to California in good time so we still had the day to do stuff. We stopped to get our Disneyland tickets so we wouldn't have to wait in line the day we went. I wanted Kyle's birthday to be a little special so we went to the Olive Garden after driving around to find the "special" birthday place. After dinner we headed to Downtown Disney to start our experience! The magic that Disney brings is absolutely amazing.
On Sunday we decided to do more sabbath like things so we toured Hollywood. I was so excited because this kind of thing is right up my alley. I know all the dumb facts about celebrites, so I was excited to go see the stars, Kodak theatre, and seeing the handprints and foot prints. Emily and Kyle were kind of bums about the whole thing and were just zooming past. The only star Kyle wanted to see was The Beatles. Once we did he was one happy camper. Miara and I on the other hand were so excited to see all the different ones and knew that those people have stood by their stars and of course cemented their hands and feet. My request was to go and find the Playboy Mansion. I loved watching the Girls Next Door(I'm a reality show junkie), so I've grown fond of Hugh Hefner. I only wish we were able to push the button and talk to him :)
The next day we woke up bright and early to head to Disneyland for a day full of fun! It was so fun to see Berklee's reaction to everything. Her favorite things were the Buzz Lightyear ride, The Little Mermaid, and of course World of Color. If I could have froze us in a moment forever it would have been watching World of Color because Berklee's face was priceless. It almost brought me to tears knowing that she loved it so much.
On thurday we headed to Huntington Beach for the day. We had tickets for Mideval Times in the evening and we were all excited to go. We relaxed on the beach, played in the water, but only barely because the water was freezing and it was only 70 degrees outside. After catching some rays, collecting sea shells, a walk along the pier we finally headed out to go enjoy our dinner and watch a fun show. We were representing the Red Knight and Berklee couldn't have been more excited. During the show if the Knights win the games that are going on they get roses. Our knight won and gave his rose to Emily. In the middle of the show they sash a Queen of the Night and Miss B was the lucky gal. She was so excited and couldn't stop talking about her red knight. The food was delicious and the show was awesome! Definetly worth the money.
We were trying to make the trip a little cheaper so we stayed with Kyle's aunt and uncle for a couple of days. Julee was able to take a day off and spend it with us, so we went shopping all day and had a mini fiesta with Kyle's favorite mexican resturaunt in California.. Cucas.
We decided to go to the beach again since we don't have any in Utah. Once again we just relaxed and enjoyed our vacation :)
It was so fun to get away and to have some awesome family time. I can't wait for our next family vacation!

promised

I know I promised to be better about blogging but school work has taken over my life. So here is a little update and I PROMISE to update when I have my 2 weeks off before summer semester starts. I have lots to share!

Tonight- Miss B was trying to lay down on the couch. She says "Why do I get a wedgie when I lay down?... All the time!"

Oh this girl.. she never ceases to amaze me. I'm so lucky to have her and she is my little angel. Love my life and love her!

Little Gymnast

I've been a dancer my whole life. Well, obviously I stopped after high school, then I was an assistant coach for the drill team that I was on just a couple years ago. So, in my nature, I was DYING to put Berk in something girlie! She is one little monkey! Remember the post way back when, when she climbed out of her crib? My point exactly! What is better for a monkey than gymnastics!! I was so excited! I've been wanting to put her in for quite sometime but I'm so glad that I waited. She has a really hard time with us leaving her somewhere, but with her turning 3 and me in school, there have been many changes in her life. She goes to primary on sundays as a FREAKING cute little sunbeam, and 2 days a week she goes to a sitter in the morning so I can go to school. Needless to say, she is doing much better with being independent and having us leaving her. On Wednesday she went to her first gymnastics class! She was scared at first and got teary eyed. Her teacher is great with little kids and embraced Berklee. After warming up, they were doing little stations and Berks was loving it! So I asked her if Mommy and Mammaw could go sit on the bench and watch. Her response.. "Sure!" So for the rest of the time we watched her. Her teacher Chan, said that she had really good strength and that she was doing really good. She was so cute and looked like she had been doing gymnastics for awhile. I can't wait to take her next week because I think she is going to have a blast! In fact, Berklee herself said "Mommy, I will go to nastics next time, and you will sit on the bench and watch me and I will do tricks!" I guess it sounds like she is excited too! Now here is what everyone else cares about, the pictures! They aren't very good cause the camera on my phone sucks but they are better than nothing!Enjoy!

Made my day

Heard on the radio today: Since our health benefits are going to crap, just go to the airport! You get a free x-ray, free breast exam and if you mention Al Qaeda then you might just get a free colonoscopy!... well isn't that the truth! They sometimes ask you if you want a private room. What service! Just keep that in mind and you'll be set for any check-ups!

Things..

that I want to remember..Berklee says so many funny things and they just make my day. If I'm feeling sad or just in a blah mood, I just think of her and I instantly have a smile.
-While on our vacation I took her to the bathroom. B:"Mommy, you're the best mommy for taking me to go potty." Then it was my turn. B:"Mommy, I'm the best Berklee for taking you to go potty."
- Instead of saying "what did you say?" she says "What you said?"
- Mommy, you're my best friend... That one melts my heart :)
- Me cuddling with Kyle, Berklee comes and climbs on his lap, puts her arms around both of us, B:Let's be a family!.. Were we not already? I'm glad she likes us!
- "Mommy, I want to watch Da Da Da Dora."
- Emily: Berklee, do you want to go to work for me? B:No cause I can't drive yet. Well I guess she is ready to work, now we just need to work on teaching her to drive.

These are just a few for now. Since I'm going to try and keep this updated a little better I'll probably post things she says or does frequently. She is a pretty funny little girl, and I don't mind sharing her humor :)

New Year

So the obvious is that I don't update our blog very often. I decided this year instead of setting "resolutions", I'd set goals. One of them is to do better about updating our blog. With my constant blog stalking I realized more people read my blog then I thought. So I thought I'd give those extra people and my faithful followers more updates on our totally AWESOME lives! So bare with me, I can't promise I'll be perfect, but I will try! Happy New Year!
