We got the opportunity to drive to Seattle a couple weekends ago. A family friend was getting baptized and we felt it was really important that we attended. And boy are we glad we did! The city was beautiful, the air was clean, the company was wonderful and most of the the baptism was AMAZING!
We headed out Thursday afternoon so that the drive wasn't so miserable on all of us, plus having Berklee strapped in her carseat for 11 hours didn't sound to fun to us. We arrived in Oregon around 10 pm, slept, woke up, got ready then headed for our destination! We were so excited to see the Kennedys! They live in a town just out of Seattle in a very beautiful area. When we saw all the green around us I just wanted to take it all in. Kyle instantly fell in love and said he wouldn't mind living there... maybe in a few years? I honestly wouldn't mind either! It was so beautiful! and when we stepped out of the car the air was so clean I think my lungs did a little dance inside me. Anyway, we arrived there around noonish, said our hello's, ate some yummy lunch then headed for the city of Seattle.

We went to Pike's Market and can I say instantly in love? This place was so cool! So many vendors selling random things, the smell of fish, and cool shops all around. The only downside of course was the rain, but honestly we didn't mind it. I actually got used to it! Usually this place is packed but since it was kind of chilly and rainy it was people clear for the most part. We wandered around scoping out all the random stuff people were selling and enjoyed being on a mini vacation.

We got to the part of the market that is famous for throwing fish and yelling I'm not sure what, but it was cool! The little girls wanted the mini doughnuts that are so FREAKING good and fresh, luckily it was right there by the fish market so we got to enjoy a show while shoving our face of deliciousness :) I think between all of us we got about 7 dozen doughnuts and ate all of them! My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

After that treat we headed to the all so famous soup shop.

They are #1 in the country for their clam chowder and man oh man do they deserve it! So AWESOME! I just got the original clam chowder but Mel and her mom opted for a different kind and Bonnie got chicken chowder. All were really good and fresh.

After that we headed to the Aquarium. Once again, it is usually packed but not so much this time around. We pretty much had the place to ourselves :) Can't complain because then we got to see the 2 octopus. We were told that usually they are hiding but that day both were out and suctioned to the glass. So cool to see the underside of one. Sea creatures are amazing. We saw a ton of other cool sea life, and it made me excited to scuba dive :)

After the Aquarium the guys went to get the cars and us girls took the kiddos over to the carousel. Berklee liked it but only because Grandma was holding her on to it.

The little girls were getting kind of restless and it was dinner time so we headed back to Tim and Mel's house to drop off Maddie and Gigi. Tim and Mel treated us to a really good mexican restaurant! Thanks again guys! Kyle and I got fajitas that were pretty much the best ones I've ever had. After dinner we called it a night. We were all exhausted and Abby needed to get ready for her big day tomorrow!
The baptism was at 10 am, which was nice because it gave us the rest of the day to spend with the Kennedys! Abby looked beautiful in her white clothes. I got really emotional, because the gospel is such a blessing in my life. Kyle was able to be a witness and if any of you know the circumstances then you know why it was special. He also got to stand in the circle. Tim gave her a wonderful blessing along with receiving the Holy Ghost. We of course took pictures, then headed to lunch at Tim and Mel's house.

After the other guests left we decided that we wanted to head down to Pike's again. Only Tim and Abby came with us this time because the other 3 were still recovering from all the events prior to us visiting! We had a blast! This time around we bought a ton of stuff. Kyle let me pick out a super cute ring for my Valentine present. As you are walking Pike's Market people in the food section are constantly handing out samples. I've never tasted so much yummy fresh fruit in my life! The pears were to die for! Also there is this chocolate covered cherry, nuts, and whatever else shop called Chukar. Needless to say, we spent A LOT of money and came home with some DELISH treats. We then headed to the doughnut place again. Kyle and I bought 2 dozen. We seriously couldn't get enough of this place. Abby and I got some free smoked salmon from the Pike's Fish place, I kissed a crab and licked it...

jk I also went back for some more chowder. This time I got Smoked Salmon Chowder. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM so D-E-L-Icious! My brother had told me to try it so I got brave and I'm certainly glad I did :)

I can't wait to go back to visit the Kennedy's again so we can make another trip to Pike's. Tim's request, we went to a nerdy comic book store. Him and Kyle were in high heaven! I actually enjoyed it too, I know, I know wierd. It had all sorts of treasures! Lots of old comic things and other cool vintage stuff. After that adventure we decided we'd better head back to Mel, Madsie, and Gigi. We were all pretty hungry so we headed to Burger Master. It says it all in the name. The burgers just melted in your mouth and the onion rings were so good too! We promised the girls they could come to our hotel and swim after, but when we got there, there were 10 thousand kids in the pool! AHH! It was so loud and no room. We sat in the hot tub for probably a total of 5 mins. It was alright though, because everyone was exhausted! On sunday we went to church then ate dinner with the Kennedy's before we headed back. It was sad to have to say goodbye, but so nice to be able to share Abby's special day with her and spend time with such a sweet family. Thanks again Kennedy's! We love all of you!
